A veteran called out to me, deep into a psychedelic journey.

“Gord… my tears feel like the roots of the earth.”

It came after a long, heavy trip through trauma, suicide, and the first bit of self-forgiveness he'd allowed himself in years.

That moment became this graphic — him, with his tears growing into buttress roots.

And that little toad on the front? Bufo alvarius.

The Sonoran Desert toad known for producing 5-MeO-DMT, one of the most powerful psychedelic compounds on earth.
